HYDERABAD, TELANGANA, INDIA, October 6, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Medvarsity and the Guyana Online Academy of Learning (GOAL) celebrated the graduation of 115 healthcare professionals from the first cohort of the GOAL × Medvarsity Health Sciences Programmes, marking a major milestone in their partnership to expand access to specialised healthcare education across Guyana.

The graduates completed programmes across areas including critical care nursing, clinical cardiology, diabetes management, infection prevention and control, nursing administration, clinical oncology, surgical nursing, mental health and nutrition.

The graduation ceremony in Georgetown was attended by Hon. Dr. Frank Anthony, Minister of Health, Cooperative Republic of Guyana; Prof. Jacob Opadeyi, Director, Guyana Online Academy of Learning; and representatives from Medvarsity and Apollo Hospitals.

Launched in 2025, the Medvarsity and GOAL partnership was created to provide doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals in Guyana with access to specialised healthcare education and professional development. The first cohort began with 165 learners, while the wider partnership introduced more than 300 healthcare courses through Medvarsity. The online learning model enabled participants to continue their education alongside their professional and personal responsibilities.

“As Guyana continues to strengthen and expand its healthcare system, investing in the knowledge and capabilities of our healthcare workforce is equally important,” said Hon. Dr. Frank Anthony, Minister of Health, Cooperative Republic of Guyana. “The graduation of this first cohort demonstrates how partnerships such as GOAL and Medvarsity can help our professionals build specialised skills that ultimately contribute to better care for our people.”

Gerald Jaideep, CEO, Medvarsity, said: “This first graduating cohort represents exactly what we mean by ‘Impacting Healthcare Through Education’. When a doctor, nurse or healthcare professional becomes better equipped, that impact extends to patients, healthcare teams, institutions and communities. We are proud of these 115 graduates and look forward to deepening our partnership with GOAL.”

Prof. Jacob Opadeyi, Director, GOAL, said: “GOAL was created to expand access to meaningful educational opportunities for Guyanese, and this partnership demonstrates the impact that access can create. We are proud to see 115 healthcare professionals complete these programmes and take their learning back into the hospitals, clinics and communities they serve.”

Many participants completed their programmes while continuing to work in hospitals, clinics and other healthcare settings. The flexible learning model allowed healthcare professionals to strengthen their knowledge without stepping away from patient-care responsibilities and professional duties.

The graduation marks an important first chapter in the Medvarsity and GOAL partnership and establishes a foundation for expanding access to specialised healthcare education for more professionals across Guyana.
