New ALU LIKE-Supported Cohort Helps Hawaiʻi Residents Prepare for High-Demand Healthcare Careers

HONOLULU, HI, UNITED STATES, August 11, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Hawaii Medical College (HMC) is partnering with ALU LIKE to offer a specially supported cohort of its 10-week Advanced Nurse Aide (ANA) program, creating an affordable pathway for individuals seeking to enter Hawaiʻi's growing healthcare workforce.— Ashton Cudjoe, President, Hawaii Medical College
The ALU LIKE-supported cohort will accommodate up to 12 participants. Through ALU LIKE's sponsorship of the cohort, selected participants will have a remaining program balance of just over $400, helping reduce financial barriers while providing access to high-quality healthcare training.
Hawaii continues to experience a strong demand for skilled healthcare professionals across hospitals, long-term care facilities, rehabilitation centers, home care agencies, skilled nursing facilities, and other patient care settings. The Advanced Nurse Aide program is designed to help address this workforce need by preparing students with the knowledge and hands-on skills necessary to provide compassionate, high-quality patient care.
The 10-week program provides comprehensive nurse aide and direct patient-care training. Upon successful completion, qualified graduates may sit for both the Hawaiʻi Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) examination, administered through Prometric, and the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) examination, expanding their career opportunities across a wide range of healthcare environments.
